Preceded, Current And Future Buddhas

This Prasat-style building roofed with 5 prangs was mutually approved by the committee of the Jetovimut Foundation to enshrine the 28 Buddhas (including the Buddha of the Present) and the Buddha of the Future, ‘Sri Arya Maitreya Bodhisattva’, who, in the emanation of Deva Santusita, is waiting for His time to manifest as the 29th Buddha in His future advent. Inspired by the assumed design of the Wihan Somdej Hall built during the reign of King Prasat Thong - also considered as a flourishing period of Ayutthaya, this building shares the same height and width as the original design but the porch is shorter due to its space limitation. However, the artistic splendor of its architectural design is never lessened, as particularly shown in the several thousands of Buddha images decorated on the wall to emphasize the supreme auspiciousness of Buddha’s virtues. As a result, this hall is regarded as the most magnificent and precious Buddhist art of the late-Ayutthaya style architecture ever.
